Historical Day on Sunburst

It was a pretty monumental occasion when Tanya said that she would be up for a day of ski touring with me, and then we actually went. The temps were cool, the sun was out, and Sunburst was a beacon of heavenly looking creamy powder.

Although the snow in the sun wasn't really as powdery as it appeared, the snow in the shade was as good as it looked. I've never skied the back side of sunburst, but it was filled in really deep and was super fun.

Although Tanya kept saying what a crap skier she was all day, there were no catastrophic yard sale events. I'm pretty sure she was sand bagging.

Super fun day out, with the most unlikely ski partner ever, and looking forward to next time!

A Dreamy Day Floating: Sunburst

Almost all I have to say about this day is that if I could ski powder like that every day I might never climb again...wow that felt blasphemous to type...but it was SO good!

Leaving the Car!

The light at the beginning of the day was slightly flat, but by the last run it was fantastic...unfortunately bad pics do no justice....

If I didn't dislike skiing in the dark so much it probably would have been a lot harder to leave...four amazing runs, each better than the preceding one until I got the last run in the widest, best light, open section, of brilliant powder...I wish I could color my words with the enthusiam I feel just remembering the day....
