Wolverine Peak

Ughh the first trot up Wolverine peak this year! It was brutal, usually I've put in more uphill mileage at Arctic valley before this point, but not this year!

Wolverine Peak

After six days of work, I woke up pretty motivated to gets some exercise....but not to much because I was tired and it was 4pm....working nights has destroyed any biorhythm I used to have. It felt good to jog up the trail to Wolverine Peak.

Although I my initial intention was to take my time going up Wolverine, it just felt so good to be moving, then I was racing myself...then I talked to my sister and I was late for dinner and had even more motivation to move, fastest time of the summer.

Wolverine Peak

If I didn't feel so desperate to sleep in the afternoon I never would have woken up at 8 and then went up Wolverine Peak. But it was a fine end to a week off and an effective way to make me sleepy in the middle of the day.

It was great to get a birds eye view of Long Lake and East Tanaina peak since I was just there. I really want to start at the Dome trail and do the whole ridge then take the pass over to the Williwaw valley....lots of long day potential link ups back there.

Wolverine Peak

George Anne decided to come with me for my morning pre work trip up Wolverine...she planned on going straight from our hike to work...

It was cloudy but hot, couldn't see anything from the top, but that's kind of the theme of this summer.

Wolverine Peak

I just switched over to working the night shift, and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to transition in and out of staying up all night. So I went up Wolverine peak in the AM, and managed to nap for 4 hours after....I might be on to something. Trail conditions were good overall, just a couple muddy spots and a patch of isothermic snow at the top.
